Apex Legends: Respawn Will Ban Players Who Use The Quit Exploit

eNews (9)

Apex Legends players have always managed to discover new exploits every month. These exploits have helped them cheat their way through some stages of the game but Respawn has always been quick to fix them. Recently, another exploit was discovered through which players were able to cheat their way to the top of the ranked system by quitting the game early. However, Respawn has confirmed that they are aware of this issue and have already started taking action against those players who are using this exploit.

Respawn Is Aware

Respawn’s project lead, Drew McCoy, took to Twitter where he decided to let people know that Respawn is taking action against users of the quilt exploit. He revealed what the developers are doing and that they will not hesitate to punish those players who start using any new kind of exploits as well.

Players who were discovered using the quit exploit have been temporarily banned from the game. And if anyone tries to use such exploits in the future, then their RP can get revoked. Not only this, but they can even receive a permanent ban.  “We’ve temporarily banned players detected to be heavy abusers of quitting the game to avoid penalties in Ranked.” McCoy continued, “Going forward we will not hesitate to punish players who abuse new exploits and will increase penalties as we see fit, including permanent bans and revoking RP.”

What the Quit Exploit Is

For those wondering, the quit exploit is being used by players to avoid getting penalized. Earlier, in order to avoid penalizing players for being disconnected from the game, the developers introduced loss forgiveness. Thanks to this, players who were disconnected because of a glitch wouldn’t lose any ranked points. But now, players have started using the quit exploit in order to cheat their way to the top by avoiding penalties.

Apex Legends

Players basically quit a ranked match by ALT + F4, something that throws them out of the match. However, the system detects it as a game error. Prior to this, players would quit a game as soon as both of their teammates got eliminated. But the quit exploit is much faster. However, what they didn’t knew was that Respawn is already aware of this issue and it won’t be soon before every player who has used this exploit or is currently using it will get banned.

Although most players are happy with the fact that Respawn is taking action against such players, some players are worried about it. These players are complaining that their game was crashing constantly, but they still received the ban because Respawn thought that they were using the exploit. However, Respawn’s senior designer, Chin Xian Chong, has claimed that if any player gets wrongly banned from the game, then Respawn will sort the issue out.

In any case, it’s great to see that Respawn is doing something about such issues. Apex Legends has been filled with such cheaters from the start, and it’s time for Respawn to start permanently banning them from the game.
