AVANGAR are the Blast Pro Series champions in Moscow

AVANGAR defeated forZe to be crowned the champion of BLAST Pro Series Moscow 2019. After finishing at second place in the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019, the Kazakh team once again showed that they are among the best sides in the world. They boys continued to reign supreme over the big names and finally won a trophy to justify their brilliant performances. AVANGAR beat forZe 2-1 in the best of three series and won USD $125,000 in prizes.

Game 1

The first map of the series was Overpass, and it started well for forZe as they won the pistol round. The series was soon put on hold due to technical problems, but it didn’t stop the Russians from getting a decent lead in the early stages of the game. It looked like the first half would end with a dominating performance by forZe, but AVANGAR had other plans. The Kazakh team won the last five rounds before the break to get an 8-7 lead.

In the second half, AVANGAR continued to maintain its excellent performance. However, forZe were not going down without a fight as they managed to get some points on the board. Jenya “FL1T” Lebedev even got three eliminations in a single round for forZe to give his team some hope but AVANGAR was not intimidated and managed to secure a 16-13 victory.

Game 2

The second match was Inferno. forZe had an incredible start on the CT side as they opened the map with a six-round lead. AVANGAR did manage to secure some points but forZe was not in the mood to give up their advantage as they managed to close the first half 10-5. After the break, AVANGAR seemed like a completely different side as they closed the lead of forZe to 11-9. Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev knew how to handle the pressure very well and the Russians tied the series 1-1 with a 16-12 win.

Game 3

In the last map of the series, Dust II, AVANGAR sailed off to a solid 6-0 lead and forZe just failed to recover. The Russians had no reply to the Kazakh’s aggression on the bombsites. In the entire first half only the AWPer of froZe,  Bogdan “xsepower” Chernikov, had a decent KDA. After the break, the Kazakh team dominated as CT and did not crumble even after dropping a few rounds. AVANGAR closed the game 16-6 to win the BLAST Pro Series title.

Tough luck for MIBR

MIBR participated in the tournament and played with its new signing Vito “kNgV-” Giuseppe. Despite not being able to reach the grand finale, the Brazilian team managed to finish the competition at fourth place in the first phase. In its campaign, MIBR got two wins, two draws and only one defeat which was inflicted by the champions, AVANGAR.

BLAST Pro Series Moscow 2019 was held from 13th-15th September in Russia. Six teams competed for the lion’s share of $250,000 prize pool. In the exhibition match Ninjas in Pajamas defeated Natus Vincere with a score of 28:26  to earn an additional $20,000.
