ESL Invites MiBR To ESL One Cologne

One of the most successful teams in the CS: GO competitive landscape, MIBR received an invite for ESL One Cologne. The team led by Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo will be looking to make a good run in the competition. Since after the FACEIT Major, the side declined in form, as they lost nine of their ten competitive games.

The most disappointing performance of the team was in BLAST Pro Series Sao Paulo. On their home soil, the team lost all the games of the competition. They even lost the exhibition match against ENCE. After this poor result, the team tried its luck in the StarSeries Season 7. MIBR was rated amongst the favourites to win the competition. Since Team Liquid and Astralis didn’t participate.

Series of Poor Results

The Brazilian team was eliminated in the group stage after losing three out of the four games played. The team lost to tier 2 sides, North, Renegades and NRG. After the elimination one of the players of the team, “fer” played a prank on the community. He jokingly announced his departure from the team.

The poor form of MIBR had to change in their upcoming competition, BLAST Pro series Miami. Out of the five games played in the competition, The won twice against Cloud 9, and tied a series against the eventual winner of the competition, FaZe Clan. Yet we believe that their best result was the 16-2 victory against the No.1 team in the world, Astralis.

MIBR Against The Best In The World

We believe that even after the slippery slope of defeats, MIBR deserves this invite. Keeping in mind, that they finished as semifinalists in the FACEIT Major. Apart from MIBR, the organizer has invited five other teams: BIG, Natus Vincere, NiP, FaZe Clan and Astralis. We are still yet to know who will be the other five invited teams. Since out of the 16 teams competing in Cologne, 12 will be invited while four teams will have to make their through the qualifiers.

The competition is scheduled to take place in the first week of July. It will be held in the LANXESS Arena in Germany. Some of the best teams in the world will compete for one of the most prestigious trophies in the competitive world of CS:GO. They will also be eager to take the lion’s share of the $300,000 prize pool.

Who Will Shine In Germany?

BIG and Na’VI were the finalists of the last year’s event. Both teams will be hoping to replicate this form. However, Astralis will be no pushovers, as they will be aiming for a fresh start after finishing at 5th place in Miami.

This will be an exciting competition, since very team will be aiming to get the best possible results. We can’t wait to see the other participating teams, we might even see Team Liquid’s name in the list. The NA side, has performed well in the past few months. As they were the finalist in BLAST Pro Sao Paulo and Miami.
