“PUBG” fully relies on the well-known Battle Royale principle and pushes it to the extreme. It’s all about the bare survival: You jump in with 99 other players in an 8×8 kilometers large combat area and must be the only one to survive. The charm: You land unarmed and start each round with the collection of equipment and weapons. After some time, the game area shrinks and forces the fighters together until only a tiny area remains.

A game-crucial element in PUBG is the looting of buildings and corpses. Open doors are a clear indication of already looted buildings but beware: many players close doors immediately after entry. Closed doors are by no means a sign of calm waters. In any case, get used to closing the doors yourself. If you’re in a building, you should hear the doors open, so you can prepare for the visit early.

PUBG history

You can collect items in different ways: either with the action key f, or via the inventory view via the tab key. In particular, in early and critical game situations offers the collection of first weapons and appropriate ammunition with the f key. In the inventory view, you can choose between the drag-and-drop principle or collect items of all kinds with clicks on the right mouse button. By right-clicking, you also equip your primary weapon, which is placed in Slot 1 in the top right, with extensions like silencers or visors. Do not spend too much time looting, but prioritize dealing with the weapons. Equip your weapons in the first few rounds and seek out the confrontation.

It should be noted that other items also play an important role in PUBG. Even certain items of clothing, such as a coat, should not be disregarded, as this provides space for inventory. For as much storage space as possible, you should stop your eyes for backpacks, which are three sizes. Larger backpacks can easily be exchanged for the already worn backpack with the f-button. Incidentally, the same principle also applies to the survival-essential helmets and vests, which offer better protection depending on the level. In addition to a basic supply of weapons, and protective clothing, your priority should be on healing items – dressings, energy drinks, painkillers, first aid kits and so on.

So much for the basic structure of “PUBG”. But why does this game drive hundreds of thousands of players to the online servers every day?

Competitive Landscape

When PUBG hit the market in 2017, expectations were not very high. Although there had been some promising previews, no one would have expected that the million mark would be broken in sales within a year. In South Korea, PUBG became a hit in just a few weeks and then all major markets worldwide were conquered. PUBG has quickly become a serious competitor to established games such as CS: GO. The most important reason for this is that the game has a high quality.

With only a handful of competitions around the world, the professional landscape of the title is still in its early stages to compete with such eSports as Dota 2 or League of Legends (LoL). Nevertheless, big tournaments are taking place in the community at this time. While the field of online betting eSports PUBG is also becoming more popular.

PUBG present

Shortly before the start of PUBG Global Invitational 2018. PUBG Corp. – The developer behind the Battle Royale game Player Unknown Battlegrounds announced the implementation of a five-year eSport plan. Many details of the plans are still not, but we have put together everything that we know so far.

Part of the plans of PUBG Corp. is the introduction of regional leagues for professional players. Many fans believe that the lack of a single set of rules and structured regional competition has hindered PUBG’s growth so far.

Here are the first four regions, wherein 2019 professional leagues were introduced. From 2020, more leagues will be added after PUBG Corp. has gained some experience.

Europe – strong teams with little tournament experience

Undoubtedly, some of the best teams in the world, both in the first-person perspective and in the third person perspective, can be found in the European league. One of the strongest teams in the entire game is the FaZe Clan, who consistently scores well and has some of the best players in the world in the squad. Nevertheless, the squad could not qualify for PGI 2018.

Team Liquid and Welcome to South Georgo have also established themselves lately and are good candidates to win the league. In the European league, we saw many exciting PUBG matches.

North America – a young scene with consistency problems

There are a lot of good teams in North America, some of them already fighting for titles outside their region. However, teams from North America have a problem with consistency. Playing in a tournament in the top 3, they do not qualify for other tournaments at all. We recommend you to keep an eye on Ghost Gaming, Tempo Storm and OpTic Gaming. These teams are most likely to fight for first place in the league.

China – strong first-person teams and favorites role

China still has the largest PUBG community. Team Oh My God is a clear favorite for the league, as they are merciless in the first-person perspective and have been winning often lately. The Four Angry Men are also a team to keep an eye on. In the Chinese league, it can come to surprise victories of many unknown teams, so tips for eSport bets are difficult to make. If new teams are established, we will inform you as soon as possible.

Korea – the winners of the PUBG Global Invitational 2018

Korean teams are an ever-increasing threat to PUBG tournaments. It is, therefore, to be expected that the league will attract much international attention. The team Gen.G will compete with two squads: Gen.G Gold and Gen.G Black. Both are clear favorites in the league and a good choice for eSports betting. Afreeca Freecs Ares and OGN Entus Force are teams that could compete with Gen.G, but currently, they are not at the top level. But you never know when they can surprise you.

After the professional leagues have been played, we expect that there will be another international tournament. If the winners of the league compete against each other, you have to analyze the past performance of the PUBG league of each region.

PUBG Future

In January 2019 PUBG Corp. announced to professional teams from North America and Europe through a crowdfunding system. This was announced on the StarLadder website.

Starting with the second phase of the PUBG Europe League and the PUBG National League, developers will add items tied to the league members to the game store. 25% of the proceeds from their sale will go to the teams. PUBG Corp. will also produce tournament items tied to the international championships of the PUBG Global Championship, and 25% of the sales money will be distributed among the participants of the competition. The company will double the prize pool of the tournaments that are held by its partners. The developers reported that they will publish a list of such championships later.

The PUBG eSports season in 2019 consists of three phases. The second phase, with which the crowdfunding system will be introduced, will begin in May.

A Success on IOS

In January, it was official that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was the most popular game of the App Store downloads in 2018. The Battle of the Royals took the first place in the App Store downloads in each quarter of last year.

According to the service, for the fourth quarter of 2018, the mobile version of PUBG was downloaded almost 29 million times. The nearest competitor, Paper.io 2, has more than 20 million downloads. At the same time, PUBG Mobile took only the sixth place among downloads on Google Play – about 44 million downloads for the fourth quarter of last year. In the overall ranking of the two stores, PUBG Corp. located on the second place yielded Paper.io 2 by several thousand.

The Royal Battle of PUBG Corporation appeared on mobile devices in March 2018. For PC users, the game was released on March 23, 2017, and on Xbox One – in December 2017. On December 7, 2018, developers presented PUBG on PS4.
