Na'Vi Are The Champions Of StarSeries i-League Season 7

Na’Vi is the champion of StarSeries i-League Season 7 of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO). The Ukrainians beat Fnatic in the grand final on all three maps, with 16-13 ( Mirage ), 16-11 ( Dust2 ) and 16-10 ( Inferno ), and won the prize of $ 250,000. The Brazilians, MiBR also attended the tournament. They were considered as solid contenders for the title. Yet, the side was eliminated in the first stage of the competition. Game 1

Na’Vi started the series on the right foot at the Mirage but found it difficult to claim the victory. Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev’, the best player in the world and Na’Vi lost valuable rounds on the terrorist side. Yet, they went into halftime trailing 7-8. After the change of side, playing as counter-terrorists, the team finally found its rhythm. They won the pistol round, scored six points in a row and were leading the grand finale 1-0.

Game 2

The clash in Dust2 was also quite balanced in the first half. This time, at the break Natus Vincere was leading 8-7. In the second half, the Ukrainians took the reins of the match, lost only three rounds to Fnatic and extended the advantage on the scoreboard. Denis “electronic” Sharipov, the rifler of the European organization, was the star of the map with 22 kills, 6 assists, and only 16 deaths. His ADR was 99.7 and got a 1.46 rating.

Game 3

Like the first two games, the initial half on Inferno was fairly level. Fnatic was a step ahead with Natus Vincere and got five rounds in a row on the CT side to get a 7-8 lead at the break. Yet, the side failed to maintain its advantage after the break. Playing as CTs, the Ukrainians proved why they are amongst the best. Na’Vi won seven rounds in a row and lifted the title after an excellent team performance.

S1mple Wins MVP recognized Alexander s1mple Kostyleva as the MVP of StarSeries & i-League CS: GO Season 7. The AWPer of Natus Vincere finished the championship with a kill-to-death ratio of 1.61 (439/273).

Kostylev became the leader of the tournament in the following categories: “Difference between kills and deaths”, “Damage per round”, “Total frags”, “Kills per round”, “Rounds with more than one frag” and “Success in opening duels”. For the 21-year-old Ukrainian, this is the ninth MVP title in his career and the first in 2019.

No love for MIBR

As previously mentioned, MIBR was also participating in the competition. MiBR got eliminated early in the first phase. MIBR won their opening game against Panda Gaming but suffered three consecutive defeats to Renegades, NRG, and North.

StarSeries i-League Season 7 took place from March 30 to April 7 in Shanghai. In the grand finals, Natus Vincere defeated Fnatic with a score of 3: 0, for winning the composition received $ 250 thousand.
