World of Warcraft Classic was released just a few days ago and it has caught the attention of many Twitch streamers. Most of them have decided to stop doing anything else other than just streaming the recently released MMO game. And not only this, but a popular streamer is even willing to lose his viewers as well as money for streaming the game.
Shroud Isn’t Worried About Losing Followers
Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek is widely regarded as the most popular streamer on Twitch. The latter is well known for streaming PUBG and Apex Legends on his channel. He is even one of the reasons why PUBG is so popular today. However, during his stream yesterday, the latter was playing WoW Classic when he claimed that he is willing to lose viewers and money to play the game. When asked by a fan if he’s worried about losing viewers by streaming WoW Classic, Shroud simply answered: “not really.”
“In my mind, I figured I would not get the views I normally get; I would not get the donos I usually get, I would not get the subs I usually get,” Shroud said during his stream. “I’m playing this game for my own thing.” This pretty much confirms that the latter never plays for the money, but only for himself.
His Viewership Has Increased
To everyone’s surprise, Shroud’s viewership on Twitch actually increased instead of decreasing after he started streaming WoW Classic on his channel. This reveals that the majority of Shroud’s viewers are watching the stream for him and not for the game. During the last three days, Shroud has spent around 40 hours streaming WoW Classic. This means that the latter might be thinking about streaming the recently released MMO more than PUBG and Apex.
Shroud is regarded as the King of Twitch and is one of the three most-watched streamers on the said platform. He is best known for streaming PUBG on his channel and occasionally plays Apex Legends. However, after a very long time, we are seeing that the streamer is actually serious about another game. Maybe Shroud found something in WoW Classic that other streamers couldn’t. He even went on to say that “I’ve always been jealous of WoW streamers,” something which hints that he wanted to stream this game for a long time.
The release of World of Warcraft Classic has proved to be beneficial for many streamers. For instance, a streamer who goes by the name Zach Asmongold on Twitch is one of those streamers whose viewership has increased. His fans have watched over two million hours of his WoW Classic stream, and that too in just the past three days. Similarly, various other streamers are currently trying to get the most out of the hype that has been built for the MMO.
