SKT Have Secured A Spot In Worlds 2019 Semifinals By Defeating Splyce

All eyes are currently on the ongoing League of Legends 2019 World Championship. We have seen some really amazing matches since the start of the tournament, and we are now currently at the playoff stage. While all teams have tried their best to reach this stage, some of them are going to advance while others will walk home. And today, another team has been dropped from the tournament after getting defeated.

Worlds 2019

The latest match of the Worlds 2019 quarterfinals was held between SK Telecom T1 and Splyce, in which SKT managed to advance to the semifinals while defeating their opponent. While everything was going great throughout the match, Splyce made the mistake of leaving their base open, something which was beneficial for SKT.

How Things Went Down

After Khan solo took down Marek “Humanoid” Brazdin in the top lane, around three members of SKT instantly rushed to the mid. Four players of Splyce, Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir, Tamas “Vizicsacsi” Kiss, Kasper “Kobbe” Kobberup, and Tore “Norskeren” Hoel Eilerstsen decided to push forward and take Khan down. While they thought that no one could stop them from achieving their goal, they made the mistake of leaving their base empty. And by the time they realized, SKT already made it to Splyce’s inhibitor tower.

The four members of Splyce continued chasing Khan until the very end. At one point, they managed to take him down. However, even while going down, Khan proved to be a headache for his opponents as he took Kobbe down with him. The three players then instantly realized the mistake they made and tried to make a comeback, but they were too late. Before they could do anything, SKT destroyed both Nexus turrets. Moments later, SKT took down Xerxe, then Vizicsacsi, and later finished the match by eliminating Nexus.

SKT Is Back on Track

This match kind of proved that SKT is back on the right track. During the LCK Summer Split, the team has been trying its best to make a comeback. Because of this very reason, they have adopted a more aggressive gameplay style and have become unstoppable. They are using new and different strategies, something which we have never seen before. However, during their recent match, SKT’s aggressive tower dives did backfire and left them in a really bad position. While they did manage to win the match, Splyce gave them a hard time and it became difficult for SKT to maintain the lead.

Splyce Will Head Home

Splyce is going to be yet another team that is going to walk home. However, we shouldn’t forget the fact that the team played really well throughout the tournament. While they were at the bottom of the LEC regional finals, they managed to make it to the quarterfinals of Worlds 2019. But today, luck just wasn’t on their side as a 3-0 defeat wasn’t something fans were expecting. Still, it was great to see two of the most amazing League of Legends teams competing on the stage.

The next quarterfinal match is going to be held between DAMWON Gaming and G2 Esports. It is going to be the final quarterfinal match.
