In recent days a debate has emerged on how much Fortnite should fear the wrath of Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends, due to the title securing incredible records in just a few hours following its release. It is not surprising that we are seeing debates between the two titles, especially considering the bulk of users and viewers the new Battle Royale has attracted in a matter of days.
Two games, two different stories
It is easy to see Apex Legends and Fortnite not as rival titles, but as complementary ideas. The style of both games is completely different and, as it seems to have been demonstrated, their audience agrees. The title of Epic Games is still a candy that younger players seem unable to resist.

Despite the newbie factor and the level of investment EA has made on the streamers with Ninja and Shroud, it remains to be seen how consistent the title will be when the heat passes. Stars like Ninja and Myth continue to stream Apex Legends after their success with streaming Fortnite.

A completely different side of the tale
One of the main reasons Fortnite has won the favor of the younger audience pertains to how easy it is to enter the game. Despite how complicated its construction mechanics can get, the spirit of its players is not limited to it. To begin enjoying the game requires much less skill than Apex Legends.
In the game of Respawn Entertainment, there is a need for strategy and skill to win the games. Although everything ends up being a matter of practice, it requires much more attention than, for example, Creative modes of ‘Fortnite’.

The cartoon factor
Although neither of the two games supports their experience in explicit violence, Fortnite is undoubtedly a much milder game. In the end, there are nice characters disguised in the funniest way possible. This welcoming look has shown to attract their audience with great strength. In Fortnite, we often see the visual aspect of custom dances.
Apart from providing tons of entertainment, the Epic Games titles make a sizeable sum of money which they continue to invest in. With cartoon humor per flag and growing events, ‘Fortnite’ can be as serious as you want it to be, but not enough.

More options to play
The mobile and Nintendo Switch launch are an ideal complement to win over their audience. Epic is more focused on the graphics and cutting-edge technology that, at least for the moment, excels those of ‘Apex Legends’. In the end, it is all about expanding a market share that will be difficult for the Respawn game to access in the near future.
Due to its visual style, ‘Fortnite’ will be able to adapt easily to almost any platform you put in front of it, either improving or diminishing its graphics possibilities. For EA, it will be very difficult since they have not been quite successful in eSports with their other titles.
