Who is epileptic kid? - the new Virtus.pro Carry

On September 28, Virtus.pro announced that Yegor “epileptick1d” Grigorenko will replace Roman RAMZEs Kushnaryov in the Dota 2 roster. This player has almost no experience playing on the competitive stage, so there is a relative lack of information about him. But we still have interesting information about the new Carry of the Russian roster.

He is 17 years old and he is a dominant force in Pub game. The Epileptic kid has known to play Dota 2 all day, which helps him achieve good results in matchmaking.  His main account now occupies the first place in the CIS leaderboard, while he has two more accounts in the top 100. He is not tied to any specific role since the top 5 heroes include Carry, Support, Mid and Offlane. there are characters for any position. Recently, for obvious reasons, he has been playing Carry on streams.

Favourite hero

His statistics of the main account since 2018 are not available on Dotabuff, and all the smurfs are hidden. Judging by the old data, his only dominant hero is Shadow Fiend (346 matches). Of the Carries, he loves to play Juggernaut (161 times), but at the same time, he played more than a hundred matches on eight different heroes, ranging from Specter and Anti-Mage to Wraith King and Luna.

For the first time, the audience found out about the Epileptic kid was when he lost ALOHADANCE one on one on Shadow Fiend during the stream. It happened a year ago in May. Then Grigorenko played against Korobkin in matchmaking, and a chat ensued between them, at the end of which the young player became close friends with ALOHADANCE. The two then wasted no time to find out who was the better player in the mid lane and decided to play 1v1 Shadow Fiend match.

Not the best Shadow Fiend

In the first game, the Epileptic Kid won, and before killing ALOHADANCE with the last Shadowraze, he paused to write several taunting messages in chat. Korobkin admitted that Yegor plays well on Shadow Fiend, but wasted no time to teach sixteen year old a hard lesson. Since in the next three games, ALOHADANCE proved to be a force to be reckoned with.

Competitive experience

Epileptic Kid also has experience playing on the competitive stage. In May 2018, he was spotted in the Swiss Quality Gaming at the joinDOTA League Season 13 semi-professional tournament. Then he played for slozhniy memas and  reached the semi-finals of the QIWI TeamPlay Season 1 online tournament. His teammates were Vladislav “GGwpLanaya” Malikov, Maxim “Shachlo” Abramovskikh, Daniyal “yamich” Lazebny, and Igor “Maden” Modenov .

The 2019-2020 season of the epileptic kid kicked off with Yaroslav “Miposhka Naydenov”, with whom he won the qualifiers on WePlay! Reshuffle Madness 2019 . Then Grigorenko played in fourth position, but after joining ALOHADANCE at eUnited he was switched to the mid lane. A week later, the epileptic kid left the squad, and now he will be representing VP at the MDL Chengdu Major qualifiers.
